Carolina Abortion Fund The Carolina Abortion Fund was founded in 2011 by a group of volunteers who wanted to assist low-income patients in North Carolina who have chosen to have an abortion but cannot afford the whole cost. We believe that income should not limit individuals' ability to make reproductive decisions. In North Carolina, abortion is not covered by Medicaid or military insurance. Those who are covered by those programs or who don't have insurance must pay for their medical bills entirely out of pocket. With the help of volunteers, we run a helpline 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year in coordination with health clinics across the state to provide small grants to low-income patients.

Now, 40 years and considerable growth later, Our VOICE employs six paid staff and over 50 volunteers, working both to support the healing of survivors of sexual violence and to prevent future acts of sexual violence.
